Problem Note 54446: Observations in the OUTKERNEL= data set are duplicated when more than one output destination is specified

DetailsAboutRate It

When the KERNEL and OUTKERNEL= options are specified in the HISTOGRAM statement in PROC UNIVARIATE, and the following conditions are also met:

  • the NOPLOT option is not specified in the HISTOGRAM statement
  • ODS Graphics is disabled
  • more than one ODS destination is open

then each observation in the OUTKERNEL= output data set is duplicated. The entire set of output observations is written once per output destination. The correct output data set should contain one occurence of each output observation.

To circumvent this problem, add the NOPLOT option or close all but one output destination.
